It was my pleasure to be a moderator for the session “The Operator Scorecard: Maximizing Top-Line F&B Brand Premiums vs. Mitigating HMA Fee Friction” at the Hospitality Japan Conference at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, which is located very close to Japanese Prime Minister’s Official Residence, Tokyo, Japan.

Panelists were Wendy Shi of Agora Hospitality Group, San-Kyun (Rafael) Bong of Nishimura & Asahi (Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo), Yutaro Nakadate of AB Capital Investment Limited, and Andrew Edgar Terutung of TUI Hotels and Resorts. Focusing on key performance indicators for hotel operators, we discussed how to maximize top-line growth and the premium generated by F&B brands, as well as how to mitigate friction between owners and operators regarding fees under hotel management agreements (HMAs).
From my perspective as someone who specializes in understanding legal regulations and contractual structures, it was extremely valuable and a great pleasure to gain insight into the latest developments in the fields of hotel management, investment, and brand strategy.
Let me show my sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, and the organizers of HJC.
Very much appreciated.
